Cahomey is a word I made up to describe a method or style of drawing that comes naturally out of me especially when I am working quickly and not thinking. It records the very fluid, curvilinear and relaxed action of my fingers, and arm and shoulder.
I am always surprised by the images that show up. After the initial image appears, I may choose to ink over the pencil lines, or add color, shading, or mirroring to further develop and explore each image. Here is a selection of 11 examples of Cahomey drawings. I will post some Cahomey paintings in the future.
